J’ai découvert le défi 7.45 (the kippenberger challenge) à la lecture d’un témoignage d’un des participants sur un blogue en février 2018. Ce challenge de créer huit livres en une année m’a tout de suite séduite. Je me suis donc inscrite dès sa découverte.

Après réflexion, je voulais qu’il y ait un lien, une certaine unité, entre mes livres. j’ai déterminé que mes documents auraient 64 pages en utilisant les formats lettre et A4. Comme le chiffre 7.45 est le titre du défi, j’ai réduit les formats de 7.45%, soit en largeur, soit en hauteur ou les deux.

Habituellement, mon approche du livre d’artiste est de tenter de donner un sens à tous les aspects du livre lors de sa conception; alors qu’ici, je voulais concevoir une série de publications pour le plaisir de l’œil uniquement... et tant mieux si un sens s’en dégage.

Mon métier de designer graphique m’a beaucoup aidé dans la création et la production de ses ouvrages, même si la base était toujours ou presque de conception manuelle: collage, dessin, photographie, etc. 

le premier de la série est 

• Blurred path : livre sur les zones oubliées d’une photo publicitaire, 

pour chaque image, le mot est le synonyme de celui de la page précédente, et ainsi de suite. un côté en anglais et quand on le tourne (tête bêche) on a le livre en français.

format 8,5" x 11", 64 pages, impression numérique couleur sur papier de qualité, tirage de huit copies signées et numérotées.

I discovered the 7.45 challenge (the kippenberger challenge) when I read a blog post by one of the participants in February 2018. This challenge to create eight books in one year immediately appealed to me. So I signed up as soon as I discovered it.

After thinking about it, I wanted there to be a connection, some unity, between my books. I determined that my materials would be 64 pages using letter and A4 sizes. Since the number 7.45 is the title of the challenge, I reduced the sizes by 7.45%, either in width or height or both.

Usually, my approach to the artist's book is to try to make sense of all aspects of the book when designing it; whereas here, I wanted to design a series of publications for the eye's pleasure only... and so much the better if a sense emerges.

My job as a graphic designer helped me a lot in the creation and production of these books, even if the basis was always or almost always manual design: collage, drawing, photography, etc.

• Blurred path: book about the forgotten areas of a publicity photo.
for each picture, the word is the synonym of the one on the previous page, and so on. one side in english and when you turn it (head on) you have the book in french.

size 8.5" x 11", 64 pages, digital color print on quality paper, edition of eight signed and numbered copies.
